You are still young when you are thirty, time is still ripe for doing many things...

You are still young when you are thirty
Time is still ripe for doing many things
And I am not just saying this to relieve the angst of my future self •

I wrote this poem when I was 25 years old. And my skin may not show it in this picture, but I will be 30 in August of this year. And boy, am I weirded out by that. Not only do I ponder, "Where has the time gone?" But also, I think the question we all have in this time, is, "Where am I going?"

Do not get me wrong, I have plans and detailed to-do lists of stuff I have to do up until the age of 60 (my obsessive compulsive disorder controls everything I do, haha). But the truth is that while we may be on track to our goals, the universe sometimes directs us to a different path in that direction. And patience is the only currency we may have when this happens.

So. I will be 30 this year, in 6 months. And Lordy, if I am not ready, I had better become so. Bring on the new decade; I am sure it will bring as much surprise and growth as the previous, and hopefully much more wisdom. •
