About the Publisher…

My name is Aisha T. Abdul-Haqq, and I am an Indianapolis, IN native. I have been writing poetry since the age of 10, and have since started a publishing company to publish my own work.

My first book, Four Years in Chrysalis, is a coming-of-age collection of poems written over the course of four years (2010 - 2014) — detailing grief, loss, heartbreak, and concurrent emotional growth. It ends with a resolve developed due to necessity: of using one's self in the cause of the greater good.

The second book, Acres of Shadow, was written over the course of two years (2015 - 2016) and is purely shared for the benefit of those who currently find themselves struggling with mental health issues, and their supporters. Its deepest message is that of saving one's own life whilst in the throes of suicidal ideation — the urge to die, and the concomitant will to live. It takes the reader on the journey of recovering from illness; and supplies reflection on the past, as well as some arbitrary musings, shared for the contemplation and enjoyment of the reader.

Ether & Toil is a book of poetry that is set for publication in the near future. The book's first poem was written in 2017, and it is the third installment of the timeline of this series, starting from the pupil state (Four Years in Chrysalis); the imago state of birth (Acres of Shadow); and finally, first flight (Ether & Toil). More on this text later as the publication date approaches...

My interests are in public policy, education, poetry, music, and fashion, not exactly in that order.

My life's work is exclusively that of easing the pain of others, by an understanding of the way suffering transcends all human experience. All of the endeavors you see on this site are embarked upon purely with this ideal as the end result. I hope through the process, to add a little light, some respite — and if possible — a touch of growth.
